Chrissaf
I recently replaced the motor on Hornby R3205 'Rood Ashton Hall'. It ran-in perfectly at all speeds in DC, but when fitted with a decoder it ran satisfactorily in both directions at low speeds but, at higher speed settings, starts off normally then speeds up of its own accord, most markedly in the reverse direction. I changed the decoder, without any improvement. Any ideas?

Lyd 85B
Disable operation on DC by altering the relevent CV. Amended CV29, per Bachmann instructions, but no effect on running problem.

Fishmanoz
Check out that decoder type by search on the Bachmann site and see if there are any notes re Cv adjustment for this problem.

96RAF
Incompatability twixt Zephyr and Bacchy decoder probably. What do Digitrax say. As a Hornby user I am only guessing.

Lyd 85B
Just to wind this topic up, RAF96 suggested elsewhere that, despite the motor being brand new, it might be faulty. I have now replaced it with another new one, the loco runs smoothly in both directions and I have learned a lesson in systematic fault analysis. Thanks for everyone's input. 96RAF
Thanks for the feedback. Just goes to show even new stuff can be faulty.
