locojoe Posted July 3, 2019 Share Posted July 3, 2019 Hi everyone i`ve have put a dvd draw motor into a ringfield motor before i wire a decoder into the loco do i need to put any diodes onto the systemif so which one`s do i use, thanks for any help. Chrissaf Posted July 3, 2019 Share Posted July 3, 2019 do I need to put any diodes onto the system..Are you sure that you are using the correct terminology, there is no rational reason for adding diodes to any model railway motor whether operated by DCC via a decoder or by DC. Adding diodes to motor circuits are more likely to stop it working altogether..Are you mixing up the term 'diode' with 'suppression capacitor'?.If you don't mean the motor circuit, but some other part of the decoder circuit, then give more details of what you mean as your question 'as written' makes absolutely no sense at all...
