ESU 51900 Decoder Tester Fault

For the interest of those who have one of these handy devices there appears to be a build fault on some of them whereby the NEM651 6-pin socket whilst glued to the board does not have its pins inserted into or soldered to the PCB. Any electrical continuity will be accidental.

My other one has solder on the underneath holes but the pins still lay flat topside. Easily fixed in either case.

 

As far as I know the only real difference between the two models is the newer one has motor direction leds as well as direction lights leds, so you can check the motor and the lights are ‘facing’ the same way.
