First World War Football Match

I am keen to produce a diorama of the Christmas Eve Football match , can anyone advise on figures available?

What scale? Revell did some early war figures in 1/35.

The Airfix WW1 British and German 1/76 figures have the right uniforms for the early war period but look a bit too neat and tidy so would probably require a bit of modification, including some winter coats, scarves, woolly hats, big gloves, etc. Using some figures from other maufacturers in winter dress with transplanted Airfix heads may be an option. It is possible though, that if the playing became a bit energetic, the soldiers could have taken their coats or even jackets off, who knows? Also it looks like some of the truce participants exchanged items of uniform, so it certainly gives a lot of leeway with a diorama. Good luck.
