Shuntmaster
I have a Select controller which has stopped working. Only showing 0.18 volts across output terminals. Is it kaput?New to DCC!
Rog RJ
How have you tested the voltage? You need to set your meter to AC voltage to measure DCC voltages, even then you are unlikely to get a truly accurate voltage due to the nature of DCC but it will give a good indication. 96RAF
Does it boot up properly and if so what are the numbers you see on screen. If it boots to 03 then you could try a Select reset per the manual.
Shuntmaster
I have checked it with a multimeter on AC. Have performed factory reset. Boots up exactly as it should? But still only 0.18V
96RAF
Which firmware version is it. Tell us the numbers you see on startup as requested earlier.
Flashbang
If the voltage measured is with all wires removed from the "Track" pair of terminals on the Select and is actually 0.18v not 18 volts AC (0.18 v is virtually nothing!) then consider the Select defective as it boots up correctSuggest...Return to Hornby service after obtaining a returns number and at the sametime have it upgraded to V1.6 firmware.
