The son of Triangman Posted March 14, 2012 Share Posted March 14, 2012 great choices especially the K3. The W1 in rebuilt form would be a good model too, it was rebuilt into the ultimate A4. Both Mallard and the rebuilt W1 "Pegasus" were SNG's pet loco's. A high speed trail was planned for the rebuilt W1 in 1939 and a second run with Mallard was planned but war stopped the speed trails. The rebuilt W2 with more power than a Duchess or A4 would have been a strong contender for the record. The rebuilt W2 is sometimes refered to as a "super A4". A loco that never got it's chance to shine. Shame it went for scrap in 1959. Would make a great model in as built and rebuilt form Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Y9 Pug Posted March 14, 2012 Share Posted March 14, 2012 Well you can get a K3 from that other lot and it's a great model, one of my favourites. I'd love a W1, either original or rebuilt.
