oldpitt
Has Hornby stopped manufacturing grey foam underlay to fit under standard points? Does anyone know where I can source suitable pre-formed underlay

LCDR
Hornby sell underlay for plain track (R638) and sheets (R626) which can be cut to go under points, but appear to have stopped making the moulded underlay that fit points. My own experience with foam underlay has not been good, it tends to distort, go brittle and disintegrate. Peco still sell the moulded units. Hattons have some in stock. These may be made to fit. They are brown not grey.
morairamike
Gauge master do a foam sheet that goes under the points. I used these and then applied ballast on top /media/tinymce_upload/200188e5ebc2542fc8a3b75f4b59fd31.jpgof the foam. My main track is laid on gauge master ballasted foam. It works for me. Tim M
I remeber selling it around 2000 - it had Rovex Ltd on the packaging, so it was a slow seller! It was discontinued around that time....Tim
