6167 loco

Hi everyone. I have a 6167 loco wheels are 2-6-2.   Since I have had it the front bogey wheels keep coming off the track.  NOT DERAILING as such they are just away from the track.  Noticed the other day that its fine going backwards with a couple of carriages attached to the front.  Should there be a spring or a strip of metal pushing the wheels downwards?

There is a spring as can be seen in this picture. No. 8.

Is the bogie stiff or does it swing side to side easily. If the fixing screw is too tight it can hold the bogie off the track.

Hi there and thanks for the info. I will see if I can get a spring.  After posting this I did then realise after looking underneath that this loco is in fact an Airfix.  I think it should still have a spring though.  The bogey is loose as well and not binding.  It doesnt come off the track but the bogies are always off the track usually not even in line with the track
