FrankIsWFH
Not an electronics question as such, but I'm planning on lighting up my Edward loco - front and rear directional running, and a firebox/cab light from the Aux. question is - where would the running lights best go? Theres no obvious lamps or lights on the shell moulding. All suggestions gratefully received!
96RAF
Steam locos set the number and position of their running lamps according to the type of task, e.g light engine, Royal Train, express, goods, etc so any white lamps really need to be moveble, hence why you seldom see directional lighting on steamers unless they are a fixed rig I.e. mainline express, etc. The red at the ‘back’ is always on the outer bottom hook so that is OK, however when running tender first that lamp obviously goes on the ‘front‘ adding to the complications.. FrankIsWFH
That's interesting stuff, but this is for a 5 year old, so verisimilitude isn't the primary driver! A couple of white lights on the front, and a couple of red on the back will be a thrill!
96RAF
Generally there would only be one red lamp on a steamer.White lamps - take your pick.../media/tinymce_upload/de0eaeb0112ddf895b6181bf9ba1cc11.png
