Hi there

I have just come back to modeling & I am fairly new to DDC. I have just brought a class 395 javelin DDC ready & have been trying to find what type of sound decoder to put in it.

Can anybody advise me in what type? & if I need 2, 1 for the loco & 1 for the dummy.

Cheers

Certainly not a Hornby TTS sound decoder as they do not make an electric sound set yet.

Try asking the same question on RM Web DCC Sound section where several of the mainstream sound chip sellers post and advise.

@Flashbang  I had wondered that lots of times. Seeing that one will cost £100+, I had wondered whether it was worth it. I bought a decent one for my Bachmann 150 DMU and that was worth it with the sound of the diesel thrashing. I think those Javelins make very little sound other than the air passing by them, I live near the Dartford Crossing and that is where HS1 crosses the river via a tunnel, you hardly hear them as they pass by and they have to climb to get out the tunnel on the Essex side. There is an example sound on YouChoos web site for a Pendolino, I assume a Javelin must be about the same.
