david_hughes2
Which RLM are you after? 145 is listed as Medium grey. Humbrol (and many other manufactures) now do a range of dedicated RLM colours (240 - 253). 145 'looks' close to 246 RLM75 Grauviolet by my eye. This is off a computer screen though!Check Humbrol's website
Ratch
Hi all. I'm building an old airfix bf110 and the instructions call for hu145 on the topside. Can anyone advise if 145 is close to a rlm colour? Thanks
Ratch
On the Humbrol conversion sheet (P1158), 145 isn't a match to any RLM.
peebeep
145 'looks' close to 246 RLM75 Grauviolet by my eye. Comparing Humbrol's own chips I concur with this.
dougie paxton
RLM 75 is fine for me. Can anyone confirm this bf 110 is two colours of grey on the top? Thanks.
Ratch
74 Graugrün was usually used with 75 Grauviolett
dougie paxton
It's this kit here.https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/airfix-dogfight-doubles-messerschmitt-521818554 https://www.amazon.co.uk/Airfix-Dogfight-Double-Bf110-Spitfire/dp/B00203IBPG It does look grey on top. So rlm 75 and 74 or do I go green with rlm 70 and 71? thanks
Ratch
The code 5F is for Aufkl. Gr.14 (14th Reconnaissance Wing; later also called 14th Short-range Reconnaissance Wing). Put Aufkl. Gr.14 Bf 110 into Google Image search and see what turns up - some nice tropical schemes. It depends on how you want to portray the kit. The original instructions had all green upper surfaces - I suspect the splinter scheme was misinterpreted (70/71), but you'll also see the 74/75 scheme. dougie paxton
Wow thanks Ratch. Are you saying that the grey splinter is wrong?Should it be green splinter instead? Thanks
peebeep
The original instructions had all green upper surfaces I wouldn't trust those original instructions any further than I could throw you! 😉 😆/media/tinymce_upload/5adc75a11132ef5069a8b12416b20c1e.gif
