Class 40 sound level and button question

Recommended Posts

Good day - using Railmaster Pro latest version, Microsoft Surface, Windows 10 Pro and Elink.

Have a Class 40 which I cannot seem to control the sound levels - following is the CV readings - you will see I have reduced most to low values - but sadly does not seem to make any difference - what do I need to do?

Also, when I select this loco into the larger window I can only see 16 function buttons - as you can see there are actually 24 different sounds available - how can I see the other function buttons to trigger thier sound?

Appreciate any help.

Phil

This specific question has been asked and answered before. To see that thread click the link below:

Expanding the large throttle to see all function buttons. Note: since the reply in this thread was written, the function button display has been extended to show F26 to F28 as well (only up to F25 is documented in the link).

Look in the .ini file and there is a line something like controller full = 0 . Make this = 1 and the expanded controller will show a 16 (?) button grid without having to use the red triangle expander. This grid can be dragged up and down to show all buttons.

Sound levels - if you make master volume  CV182 = 0 does the sound turn off completely. You would normally be able to do this using Operate programming mode (Prog on the Main) but eLink and RM does not support that mode. Note that master volume is not readable so that is why you cannot see that CVs value, but you can still write to it using RM.

Some TTS decoders had a build fault and the master volume was offset by +2 so if CV182 doesn’t work try CV184.

Many thanks to you both - can happily now access all function buttons.

You were right that CV 182 set to 0 mutes the audio. Have now set to '001' - have to say - still pretty loud - it would be good to reduce a little futher.

I have set the other individual sound functions to 001, 002 or 003 - they are all still a tad loud.

Any advice appreciated

Phil

The standard TTS speaker is 8 ohms so you can wire another in series to make 16 ohms or if you want to really shush it install 100 ohm speaker but doing this risks having to wind the volume back up and overtaxing the decoder audio amp.
