Forum-1211528
On the Hornby website there's tutorial showing you how to DCC your Hornby turntable. But is there we're to make DCC sound locos can run on it and keep the sound on when the T/T is turning?
mjb1961
Hi,,,,if you convert the TT using hornby,s method the bridge is live which will allow your sound locos to drive onto the bridge with the sound on and stay on ,but, the sound will switch off at a certain point as you revolve the TT 360 deg this is because the TT,s polarity changes ,,hope this helps ,,mjb
Chrissaf
Just to expand on mjb's reply..The Hornby TT uses a 'split ring' to provide power to the TT bridge track. The design of a 'split ring' is such that there is a break in the power to the bridge as the bridge traverses the track polarity reversal position in the 360° rotation. There is no way of circumnavigating this design limitation. Except by fitting a large 'stay alive' to the sound decoder..Rather than performing Hornby's documented DCC conversion methodology, I recommend following the conversion methodology published by the forum membership. This alternative method can be viewed here:.R070 Turn Table DCC Modificationhttp://www.hornby.com/uk-en/forum/r070-hornby-turn-table-to-dcc-including-images/?p=1.R070 DCC Conversion – my version with a detailed drawinghttps://www.hornby.com/uk-en/forum/post/view/topic_id/27722/?p=2.
