R7274 decoder

Recommended Posts

The R7274 decoder uses the exactly same decoder PCB as used on the R8249 Decoder. The difference being that of the 9 possible solder pads for wires that are used on the R8249, only four of them are used for the R7274. The four wires being Track Rail Right, Track Rail Left, Motor Right and Motor Left.

.

The track wires are the outer two pins on the 4 pin connector and the motor wires are the inner two pins of the 4 pin connector. The connector itself used on the decoder is an industry standard DuPont 2.54" Pitch 4 way socket.

.

Since the R7274 decoder is actually made using the R8249 PCB, the decoder is actually a four function decoder, but the four functions are not natively accessible, because the decoder solder pads for those four functions are not used and have no wires attached to them.

.

Thus the R7274 decoder is relegated purely as a motor control decoder with no functions.

.

In terms of CVs that are supported [rather limited], these will be exactly the same as those documented on the R8249 decoder datasheet ..... downloadable from this page linked below [scroll down to the bottom of the page that opens]:
