  1. I am looking at doing the same on 2 old Lima models. HST and Deltic. I have managed to get 2 CD motors from old dvd drives. But I suspect them to be 3v. Any ideas on how to drop the voltage to 3v. Or is it not possible. Will be going to DCC. In the future. Thanks
  2. When will the 2021 club loco be released?. As not sure i like the 2020 loco?
  3. I got mine today. Very excited about it. But unfortunately when I opened the box the loco was damaged. One of the lower body end skirts is snapped off. Minor detail, but a bit upset. Have contacted Hornby and will see what they say.
  4. Mine say's shipped on 8th (Sat). So guessing should leave Hornby on Monday. Very excited!!
  5. Thanks for the comments. Just wanna get on with it now.
  6. I know this is a bit of a strange question. But if I set up my track layout on a board. In my loft. But do not pin it down. Would i be right in thinking, that it would not buckle. Only ask as, can't afford to spend too much on a layout in the current times. But also don't want to waste my tracks. But would like to be able to use a basic layout for now. Until I can afford to do it properly. Loco's would not be stored up there. Just track. Any ideas guidance appreciated.

    R7274 decoder

Thats great thank you. Didn't think to look there. This will help with my decoder selection for some motor only locos that I have. Thanks again.
  8. Hi, Does anybody know the specification of the R7274 decoder Thanks.
  9. Hi All, Thanks for the responses. This will give me somewhere to start looking at when i can. Many thanks, i will update you on progress in due course. Thanks again. Kevin
  10. Hi, Need some help. I have a 1980’s Lima Class 55 with a ringfield motor. That does not run very well on track. So far, I have tried the loco on the track and it seems to run extremely hesitantly. I have tried it in different directions etc. still no change. The only time it slightly improves, is if I press down on the top of the loco. As it has been packed away for almost 25 years. I took the top off the loco and checked the motor with a 9v battery directly on the motor inputs. With a battery connected the motor seems to run fine. In both directions Any advice as to what to do next would be appreciated. This is one of my original loco’s from my childhood models. Approx 1980 ish. So holds alot of sentimental value Having never opened up a loco before I am not sure where I need to start looking to improve the running ability. Regards, Kevin
  11. Thanks. Will keep an eye out or just have to scratch build them
  12. Many thanks. Wish I had noticed first.
  13. Hi, just started to get back into model trains. Have bought some second hand models from a well known auction site. To add to my childhood collection. I have bought the hornby london 2012 Olympics class 395 javelin. Completely my fault, but I havr not noticed that the dummy car and the coach do not have the ends on then. Epic fail on my part. Does anybody know if you can get these as spare parts. Or am I going to have to scratch build the ends. Any help advice. Appreciated.
