Malmaniac Posted July 26, 2020 Share Posted July 26, 2020 Being new to model railways I'm looking for some advic.I made a few changes to my grandson's layout yesterday to increase the number of circuits and have three trains running.we have the standard track at oval with extension packs a-f.when I linked two of the sidings and added an inner loop the fault occurre, with the e link flashing.i have disconnected parts of the track and isolated it down to one section which is a standard left hand point.when inserted in the layout to form a siding in shorts the system.if I remove the electro power clips the short stops but if I switch the points it Short's again.my question is have I a faulty piece of track or am I doing something wrong?many thanks for any assistance you may offer. You can prove it by swapping the point to another place on the layout or tracing it with the point out of the layout with a multimeter.The fact that the fault is there when you fit the clips or if you select the point direction to siding without the clips proves the diagnosis.
