96RAF
Not strictly in the right forum area as International is for the Hornby‘s International brands discussions but as a one off it will do here for now. Regardless of if the track in US is analogue or digital the track voltage will be at the same potential as UK - track voltage is universal within set limits. The voltage coming from the house wall is transformed locally to track voltage. This may be by way of a Power Supply Unit (wall wart or PC type brick) or it may be done within the controller. If you are sending a train-set with a controller then the controller will only work if it has a separate transformer, but if it has an integral power supply it will be unsuitable. I.e. if the controller has a fixed mains lead attached it will not work in US. If the controller has a plug in transformer then it will work with the equivalent US transformer. If you are just sending locos, etc then no problem. OO gauge will run fine on Ho track as the are the same 16.5 mm gauge, but the locos and coaches will look larger as the scales are different 1/76 vs 1/87. Wagoncollector
American wheel standarsds are all to the RP25 profile which is finer than that used by European manufacturers so you may have trouble running through points.
