Potrail2378
Hi, is it possible to convert a class 142 - R867 to DCC? Certainly to include head and tail lights, and maybe interior lights. Thanks in advance
Fishmanoz
The simple answer is yes Pb. Would be best to install an 8-pin socket to mount any 4-function decoder. You can then wire white and red LEDs with series resistors mounted for the directional lighting using white and yellow wires (blue return) and either green or purple for the interior. You will need to run wiring between the 2 cars to take both directional and interior lighting through to the dummy car. You will need model-making skills to mount the LEDs and soldering for the socket and lights. Chris will probably be along soon with full circuit diagrams for you. 96RAF
Note that if you were to use bicolour (red/white) 3-legged LEDs rather than sepearate red and white or yellow ones you will need the common anode type, not the more usual common cathode type.
