hornby select won't program

hi I have a hornby select I've successfully programed six locomotives upto now. I've tried to program another one at address seven and it just doesn't accept it .tried number 8.9.10 and so on can anyone tell me what the problem could be .

You could try resetting the Select, this has been known to cure all sorts of odd problems.

Hi,it could be the decoder itself,to rule out the select try re programming one of the other trains ,also if not to much trouble swap round decoders ,that way you should be able to narrow down to the problem.

If your Select is at v1.6 or higher you could try writing that address directly into CV1.

If it is below this version then you are limited to the standard addressing method.

Hi thanks for your advise but I have tried that and the same thing happened 

I tried it on anther select and had no problem programming it

In that case, try resetting the Select as Rog(RJ) advised ... further above in his reply.
