R8247 Accessory Decoder

Try the obvious, such as trying the ones that do work via the newer wiring.

In fact, swap the latest decoder for one that works and put the working one in the new position wired to the new point motors. Does the old one work in the new position - if yes then your wiring is OK? Does it result in the new points motors now working

- if yes then all your motor witring and installations are OK? Now how does the new one respond in the old location - if yes, you have a mystery to solve but if no then you have either a faulty R8247 or it is not programmed (then try to program it again on

the programming track)?
By doing this though, you should now have isolated where your problem is.

Thank you gentlemen for both of your advise.

Having played about for some while, I had a look at the other decoders and suddenly realised I'd given the decoder the wrong program number.

It should have been 6 (points 21 - 24), I'd put in 21.

LOL! Sounds like something I'd do, none of us are perfect!

I have just finished building a shed layout with 12 sets of points all with gaugemaster seep pm2 motors and 4 R8247 point decoders, I have programmed them as in the manual but nothing works.
I thought the point may be too tight a fit so took the point

motor out and tried it on it's own, still nothing.
where am I going wrong? as I have £160 worth of decoders and points that don't work.

can anyone help? please???
