Potrail2378
Hi, I have both a Hornby class 37, and a Lima class 55 Alycidon. I have converted Alycidon to DCC and I am yet to convert the class 37. I have been looking at tts sounds decoders on ebay. There is an R8102 which I think will be OK in the class 37 for around £38. However, I have looked at a class 55 sound decoder and it is over £110 with ECS! Can I assume that I can put the R8102 in both units? Thanks in advance. ColinB
I think you will find the Lima class 55 will be a bit marginal on current for the TTS decoder. I thought the same for my Lima Class 37 and Class 47 until I started to do the calculations on motor current. The Lima motor's stall current is in excess of the 500 mA max current limit of the TTS. 96RAF
You can put what you have in anything you like but a Deltic twin engine is nothing like a 37 tractor engine. The Napier engine has beautiful harmonics just not present in the Ferguson engine.
