Hi just bought the flying Scotsman DCC ready, but want to run several loco together on the complete Hornby track extensions what is my best option to upgrade this ( complete novice)

Fit a decoder to the loco, buy a DCC controller, install the track extensions to your basic track if not already done, fit points clips to sll your points to make the whole track live and thats it.

 

DCC - Ready simply means it has a socket to fit a decoder in, not that it is ready to run on a DCC track.

 

You should first download and read the excellent guide to ‘Track Extensions’ from this link but also found in the sticky post at the top of the General Section.This document will answer most if not all your questions.

You must also ensure that you use DCC friendly power track connectors and not analogue ones [R8206, R602 and R8201 are DC analogue ones]
