DonnyRailMan
Hi all,I am new here and to what is going to be a new hobby for me the last time I bought Scalestric was when my two sons where 5 & 7 now they are 32 & 35. At the weekend my new Scalestric arrived I went for the Gulf Racing set pack as one of my favorable films is Steve Mcqueen in Le Mans. Its just the anolog set but how would I go about converting the two cars to digital as they do not have the door under the cars . I know I would new a digital power pack as well. Graham. Andy P.
Hi Graham and welcome,There is a ton of information on here that will answer all your questions (use the search) and if you don't find it here a place like slotracer.online will defintiely be able to.A good place though is here:https://www.scalextric.com/uk-en/support/tipsThe latest digital set is ARC PRO:https://www.scalextric.com/uk-en/shop/sets/scalextric-digital.htmlBut there are other ARC system for analog if you don't want to go to digital straight away:https://www.scalextric.com/uk-en/shop/sets/app-race-control-arc.htmlIn general, cars are DPR (Digital Plug Ready) which is eplained in the link above or they are not and require the "retro chip" C7005 that fits nearly all cars (inlcusing non Hornby.Small tip: The brand is Scalextric with an 'X'. It might help when searching. :-)Don't worry, I didn't spell it right for ages either!Good luck!

SMB
Hi,New to the world of Scalextric. I grew up in the 70's and 80's racing Tyco and TCR. My son and I have been racing for many years on Grampa's huge AFX Grand Prix track. Now I'm looking to purchase a track for my son who is 10. He loves stats, and keeping records of races with his Nascar and Hot Wheels cars. For this reason, the ARC sets seem the best route. He also likes American muscle/stock cars over European F! types. Not sure about the ARC ONE or ARC AIR sets though. So, looking for any feedback here...pros/cons...Also, Anyone with experience with and knowledge of Carrera for comparison? Thanks

SMB
https://www.scalextric.com/uk-en/our-ranges-explainedyep, found that and read it...thank you. Looking for feedback from anyone who has used both? Wondering if it's advisable to start with ONE and upgrade to AIR? Do the wireless controllers work as well as wired? Thanks
Andy P.
The wireless controllers are great! There are also lots of features that ARC ONE does not have.I prefer ARC AIR over ARC ONE.The only use case for ARC ONE is if you have a bespoke controller and power set up and only use ARC ONE as a lap counter and pit.(search ARC ONE Brake Modification)Otherwise ARC AIR wins hands down IMHO.
