conrail
I have a Hornby R2459 GWR 4-6-0 Wellington loco, it is DCC fitted and the decoder wont respond, I have another 8 pin decoder but not sure 1) where the decoder is located, body or tender and 2) if it is the body how do I remove the body? all help and advice appreciated
Going Spare
The decoder is mounted on the loco chassis. The body is held in place by two screws, one above the bogie (which also holds the bogie spring in place) and the other under the cab (which also holds the drawbar in place). However, according to the service sheet, 293, the decoder is the X9659 4-pin version (now R7274).
conrail
thank you Going Spare, I appreciate your advice, I will leave it for now, I only have a couple of spare 8 pin decoders
96RAF
The four pin decoder - item 25 - is only used in the R1077 set according to the SS293.The standalone locos appear to have the eight pin socket - item 23 /media/tinymce_upload/dbee00d47923efeee156e7cc451b996e.png
