Dcc fitted on DC track

Yes you will be OK running DCC locos on a DC track- if the decoders have DC running enabled. Some recent Hornby decoders are supplied with DC running disabled by default and to change this you either need a DCC controller, a friend with a controller or a local model shop or club who would do this for you.

What you may notice is the loco will take a bit more throttle to get going as the decoder has to see a certain level of voltage on track to boot it up, then it has to decide that it is on a DC track and needs to work with that command. All this of course takes place in no time at all once you have given it a bit of throttle.

What you must not do is put a DC loco on a DCC track as you run the risk of burning the motor out even if it just stands there.

An important point, make sure your controller is a reasonably modern type, not an old H&M type, or early Triang type. These controllers don't have very good regulated outputs with high voltages which can damage the DCC decoders. If it is a decent regulated type driven by electronics rather then no issue.
