Hi,

I just received this product but no documentation or manuals.   Can someone confirm what should be included?   I beleive there should have been two manuals......

1) 4-1501b_class_4900_hall_sound_manual.pdf  which is the TSS sound manual

2) Hall Class Service / Maintenance manual

Thanks for you help.   I tried to download some manuals from the Hornby site but the one link I needed seemed to not work.

Thanks.

https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/shop/power-control/tts-sound-decoders/tts-sound-decoder-hall-class.html - although not the proper TTS manual this will at least tell you what sounds are on which function keys. If you look at any current TTS steam model product page you should find a downloadable manual which will fill in the gaps about how you operate a TTS equipped model. They are much the same, the only difference being allocation of spot sounds to F-numbers.

Service sheet 448 covers your model but this is basically only an exploded parts diagram. Download from the menu at the left of page top.

I cannot find a maintenance sheet for this model which should be in the box and tells how to get the loco and tender bodies off, where to lubricate and where the decoder fits.

I suggest you contact Hornby Customer Care and tell them you didn’t get the TTS manual or the Maintenance sheet and could they please send you copies. Phone number is at the bottom of every page on here.

The term manual is a bit misleading. When you buy a brand new Hornby TTS loco there is usually only two bits of documentation in the form of folded sheets of paper. There are no booklets that the term manual kinda infers.

The TTS Instruction Sheets / Manuals can be downloaded here:

https://www.hornby.com/uk-en/downloads/view/index/cat/50/

The Hall 4900 TTS Instruction Sheet / Manual is in the 2016 folder. The TTS sheet will tell you the CV and Function information about the loco. Hall 4900 sheet link tested and working for me.

The lubrication / body removal information is usually on a second Maintenance sheet.

These are downloadable from this index page (3 pages in total) I couldn't find one specifically for the Hall 4900. But the Harry Potter Hogwarts was on Page 3 and download tested OK for me.

The models do not normally come with a Service Sheet that tells you the parts and part numbers for the model, these have to be downloaded manually where available, not every new model has one published.

Service Sheet index is here:
