Old Model railway magazines

Hi, I have a large collection of old Railway modeller/The Railway magazines that I'm having to get rid of, much to my disappointment, does anybody know of any organisations or places that would take them? It seems a shame to recycle them. I have probably 100 of them dating back over the last 10 years,

Many Thanks in advance

When I was having my Chemotherapy the Oncology waiting area was done up like a club room with sofas and coffee tables. Tea/Coffee machine in the corner. Mainly because you you could spend hours waiting to be called in for your consultation / treatment. Anyway, the coffee tables were strewn with old magazines, that is where I took mine to get rid off.

Unless they have a particular article in them they have surprisingly little value and cost a fortune to post in any quantity. I used to send mine to the East Lancs Railway to sell, hopefully they got some funds from them. If you have a railway society nearby it may be worth giving them to them if they are open.

Last year I bought a job lot of 1960s Model Railway Constructor mags off eBay because I wanted an article in one of them and it was cheaper than buying the single mag from a specialist supplier. I paid less than it cost the seller to post them to me.

I would eBay each 12 month complete series.  Sell for £1 and P & P of at least £12.

This is what I have done with old RM mags and Hornby ones too. But they need to be in mint condition and a full years worth of series.  Use a courier (such as Hermes or any other) to collect from them from your home and delivery to the buyer.

If you can't sell them then they go to the local MR club or tip!

Only 10 years worth? I've got the Railway Modeller from 1961 to 2000 ish, Cinstructor from 1961 to early/mid ish 1980. Free to good home. Only thing is 'Complete years only. Buyer collects  Hampshire area'

I went to a couple of Exhibitions about 12-15 months ago and tried to give them to the clubs that were present. No joy!!

I'm loth to take them to the dump, but SWMBO is getting very tetchy whenever the subject comes pup

😀
