I paid a short visit to Hull docks and among other things had a tour of the docks. On the quay, at one point, was a slightly (?) bent 40 ft container. Actually it was more than slightly. It transpires that those dockers had been loading 20 footers all morning and all they had to do before lunch was load a 40 footer on to a trailer. They were loading to ordinary trucks and as they were on an ordinary berth they were using a spreader and strops. To get finished, and have a longer break, they left the 20ft spreader on and just picked up the 40 using the strops. It wasn't the best tdea anyone had that morning. 😮
