  1. The Elite & eLink have both been listed in the ‘last chance’ category many times before this latest one. So unless Hornby possesses an astronomical stockpile of both that they are attempting to reduce, I’m in agreement with @Moccasin
  2. Since this sounds like a new bug that hasn’t been identified previously, it would be sensible to email hm.customercare@hornby.com and provide the devs with more details. That will aid them to identify and resolve the cause of the issue.
  3. @GMD the following suggestions: • a tactile interface for Bluetooth control (which is very similar to your request.) & • a Bluetooth equivalent of the eLink - (removing need for select/elite with dongle) for those who like touch control of all locos. …have been put to both Hornby (during Q&As) & the HM7k devs, however the response has only been either ‘never say never’ or silence. So whilst the relevant personnel are certainly aware of those requests - Hornby are only likely to proceed if whatever black magic involved, indicates that those are profitably viable options!
  4. Why on earth would Key Model World/Key Publishing go to the trouble & expense of printing something that is freely available on a manufacturer’s website? Yes Hornby could have uploaded the pdf on release day and simply told those interested in a physical copy to take a hike. Instead they’ve opted for an arrangement with a publisher to make a printed version viable with an exclusive deal. Anyone who wants a free digital version only has to wait a short time! (Unfortunately that apparently is an unpleasant feat for those who desire immediate gratification.)
  5. Thank you for explanation @Rallymatt - not sure I entirely agree, but extremely helpful to be given another perspective. 👍
  6. How is doing an ‘exclusive marketing deal’ with a major model railway publication either lazy or a fail?
  7. The catalogue is included with the magazine, therefore it is only intended to initially be ‘free’ to purchasers/subscribers - not gen pop! I used movies as an example of a product that is initially only available to a limited paying group (cinema patrons) & only released to gen pop later (once cinema ticket revenue has been maximised.)
  8. Agreed great video! 👍 Extremely positive to see both of them being willing to be honest about difficulties & also explaining how they are making improvements. Really builds confidence that they care about customers (& company reputation.) It also completely destroys any criticism about Hornby potentially lacking commitment to the scale - they certainly wouldn’t waste money on improving models, if they were really only interested in extracting the maximum profit for the minimum investment!
  9. Hmm and maybe movies could be released to stream for free on the same day they’re released in the cinema… can’t think of any commercial reason why that could be a problem! I would imagine that a pdf version will be made available after the next issue of Hornby Magazine is released (& catalogue issue is withdrawn) - to maximise sales of the catalogue!
  10. Bee - could it work to make the chassis in 2 halves? (left & right) or make 2 side frames that attach to the chassis separately? With either of those options the material wouldn’t need to flex at all, since attachment to body/chassis would hold the axles in place, & if attachments were screws (rather than glued) then removal would also be possible, if desired.
  11. How do you get ‘boxier’ than an 08? 🤔 Dock Shunter perhaps? 🤷‍♂️
  12. Have you looked at the HM7000 decoder manual? (available from Hornby website) - it contains the various function settings as well as lots of other useful info!
  13. They are the same item - the SCA prefix is simply a Scalextric identifier.
  14. With DCC fitted version both units contain a decoder Yes! (So that you can control both lights & sounds.)
