Will Ross
Hey! I am planning on setting up my new Hornby track. I would like to know the dimensions of the full classic oval (?) complete with all track packs to go on a table.
Chrissaf
Go to the top of the "General Discussion" forum where you will find some sticky threads. There are two stickies that should answer all your questions. The R8217 TrakMat and Packs are documented in the "Getting Started [sets and Extension Packs]" sticky. Then in the "Useful Links" sticky are links to Hornby Track Geometry information resources. atom3624
Hi WR.It's not always easy, but try to think ahead where able. What type of rolling stock do you have, will you get, fascinates you?Industrial-type 0-4-0 steam locos, perhaps 0-6-0's, and smaller wagons, then track radii is of little importance - they'll negotiate any and all provided by Hornby.Larger locomotives, diesel and electric, not just larger steam, 'require a minimum of 2nd radius' - simply put, the larger the radius, the better.I have a large 'temporary track' on my garage floor, the main runs being 4th radius only, and many locomotives cannot enter some sidings (2nd radius points, curves) without 'HoG' assistance.Al.
