Great Central main line locos

Can anyone tell me whether Britannias were used on the GC main line. I have a childhood memory of seeing one on the birdcage bridge over the south end of Rugby Midland station. I have now cobbled together 3 Brits and am contemplating modelling part of the GC and part of the Midland lines to Manchester. If Brits did not run on the GC I might change my mind - I hankered after a Brit for decades and having 3 I want to run them.

Hi,

Four Britannia’s we’re allocated to the GC in 61/62 ,70015/14 and 70048/49.

Immingham she’d also had some at that time which could have worked over the GC.

Also the north country continental Norwich to Sheffield was worked by Britannia’s some times

Thank you both - just what I was hoping to hear. Looks as though the GC/Midland layout will be a goer and, with the GWR connection to the GC, a bit of modellers licence will allow me to run GC/MR/LNER/LMS/GWR/BR trains wily nilly. I just need an excuse to run SR to claim a full house. Sorry about the spelling "wily"but the rude word filter did not like the correct version!
