  1. The V2 used the LNER group standard tender , the B1 and K1 also used the same tender. Both these locomotives are made by Hornby ,so your V2 has one of these ,as for who made the kit could be DJH they tend to do a lot of LNER models . Derek
  2. Hi, Four Britannia’s we’re allocated to the GC in 61/62 ,70015/14 and 70048/49. Immingham she’d also had some at that time which could have worked over the GC. Also the north country continental Norwich to Sheffield was worked by Britannia’s some times Derek 19b
  3. The 1.1size Kingfisher did haul the Flying Scotsman train in the 1950’s there is a photo in the Book of the A4’s, it could have been in blue/purple colour as Kingfisher was one of the chosen ones. Kingfisher also had a corridor tender of a A3 at the time. derek
  4. I would try cleaning the items to be soldered and using some flux, to help the solder flow. If that does not work buy some good solder as there is some rubbish around. derek
  5. For my lift up section I have used the DCC Concepts Etched sleepers, cutting out the existing sleepers and replacing with the etched sleepers soldered to the rail and using the straight Tracksetta to keep everything in line. The Etched sleepers are pinned down, so there is no expansion into the lift up gap, but you must leave as Bulliedboy says at least a credit card gap. So you should have the following, large gap, soldered Etched sleepers, large gap then repeat to come off the lift up section. Mine has just had a full week of mid 30's followed by this week where its a bit cooler in the mid to high twenties. Hope this helps Derek You could use copper clad sleepers.
  6. Save all my boxes in a large storage box, too many now for the top of the cupboard, thinking about numbering the coach boxes and coaches for easy matching when I am gone , could be a long time or a short time who knows. in good health Derek
  7. A Henderson’s box van from rails complete with a small bottle of Henderson’s, arrived within 10 days, Blue Merchant Navy from Kernow , has been in the postal system now for 4 weeks it will arrive one day. This pre order was cancelled by both rails and Hatton so looks I have one on the way. Everything is taking a lot longer than usual. Derek
  8. @Blue992 If the track plan has your interest go for it ! You know it has issues before you start. Treat yourself to a multimeter and go for it slowly, get one loop running at a time , and test , before adding a new section test then connect the new section and test. Test everything before and after be prepared to take things up . Just think the rails are one red one black and they don't go together. Accept the challenge and go for it . Derek 19b
  9. Hi Just had a read through the master class , very interesting as I have a couple of Bachmann coaches that like to jump the track. Will have a good look when i have finnished relaying the track, I will try the mod on a coach. Love the layout , oh for half of your space. Derek 19B 😎
  10. Hi RT models have all you require , rtmodels.co.uk Derek 19b 😎
  11. Great photos LC&DR I will check Bing out, my only photos of the EM1's are passing the old Dinting railway centre, expected them to be around for ever. derek 19b
  12. Thanks LC&DR l sort of remember the red disk but could not find a photo to prove it, just photos with oil lamps. It must be 50 ish years since I was on Victoria. Derek 19b
  13. EM1 & EM2 both had four white lights , not very bright in the sixty's. Red lamp was provided by a oil lamp located left side when face on half way between the light and the window. Day time running sometimes had a white disk with a hole in for the light but this was very hit and miss. Derek 19b
  14. 30863 Lord Rodney , tried to escape through a new opening (glue had dryed out) wall had fallen off in the tunnel.l herd the derailment and looked up just in time to see it appear under the base board heading for the floor. The damage not as bad as first thought . 1. Smoke box door off 2. Chimney broke off , glued back on 3. Tender buffer off pushed back in 4. Tender hand rail lost some paint 5. This got me going ,piece of green plastic , nothing missing , right hand cab door not the easiest piece to put back on , but glued in position after removing the tender body . After much messing the wall in the tunnel is now screwed on no more escapes.
  15. Hi Try in the greenwood.co.uk they have a north light shed that could be converted. derek
