DCC Wiring Diagram for Hornby Track Layouts

Looking at the recent Hornby Catalogue edition 14 and in particular the large track layout 12/14 which can either be analogue or DCC enabled, if I chose the DCC option with a Select controller, are there any Hornby suggested wiring diagrams that show the position of power tracks, point decoders etc?

As far as power is concerned your best bet will be to use a power buss and then use droppers from each piece of rail to the buss. That way you don't rely on fishplates to carry the power.

For a larger layout it is also wise to use a separate power bus for accessory/point control.

A second controller can be used in conjunction with a PC app to run both bus’ separately, but be aware you cannot connect two controllers to the same bus.

What you can do for isolation purposes is to run both bus’ from one controller with a circuit breaker to allow one sub-bus to remain active if the other falls over, such as from a derail short. A diagram for this scenario has been posted on the DCC forum before and should be available from a search.
