Ratch
No.74 Squadron started receiving the F Mk 6 from August 1966, when stationed at Leuchars. On 4 June 1967, 74 Sqn moved to Tengah, Singapore for a 4-year stint. The squadron was disbanded in 1971 as a victim of defence cuts in the Far East. It’s Lightnings were ferried to Cyprus, where No.56 Sqn. Took them (not XS927). XS927 C/No.96260 last flew in October 1986 and was scrapped in March 1988.
