Jessville-747092
Hi,My brand new Rivarossi HO Heisler steam Locomotive "West Side Lumber Co" with ESU's LokSound V.5 DCC arrived this morning. So exciting, out to the shed for a test run. So looking forward to hearing and seeing what's on You Tube. My excitement was shattered when I set it on the track - not a peep of any sound, no lighting. So disappointed cryThought ok, get it moving, something might kick in - nopeRuns well, nice and smooth, but no sound!Never had this happen before. Whenever I've bought a train with sound, its worked right from the outset without having to programme anything. So what's wrong?I couldn't honestly say what brand of chips are in my other trains.I run pretty much all Hornby with a Hornby Select DCC controller.Surely i don't need to programme anything?Any thoughts and advice would be much appreciatedLinda
ColinB
I am assuming you know that F1 turns the sound on and off as you have other sound locos, so if that is the case then either the loudspeaker is not connected properly or there is a fault with the unit. 96RAF
Of interest what is the firmware revision of your Select. This is the very first number you see as it powers, which is followed by 30 then 03. This number will be between 10 and 20. The revision state determines how many functions your Select will operate.Did your sound decoder not come with a list of functions. Was it a factory fit or did the dealer fit the sound for you.
