BigNoj Posted August 4, 2022 Share Posted August 4, 2022 Can I fit a TTS decoder into a loco as well as a Zimo decoder. I want the ABC braking functions of the Zimo but do not want to lose the sound. Does the TTS decoder just need the red and black motor leads connecting to function as the other functions will be handled by the Zimo as they will have the same address. I have a couple of DMU’s with the TTS decoder in the dummy car so I guess it would be a similar setup in the one loco. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Fishmanoz Posted August 4, 2022 Share Posted August 4, 2022 You are overthinking now, orange and grey are motor drive and you can only connect one decoder, in this case the Zimo. Yes, you can do this - connect both decoders’ red and black to the pickups, then Zimo orange and grey to the motor, TTS to the speaker and function wires however you wish (only use the blue with another color from the same decoder). However, and a big however if it is a steam loco - you now have no motor feedback to control chuffs/idle. If diesel, no problem. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
