  1. I am unsure if this has been covered before but am I alone in wishing that all topic selection boxes were unticked rather than all selected or even better a select all and unselect all box to tick.
  2. In reply to my own question the Bachmann Kinesis looks promising as there is no need to change decoders.
  3. Last few Elite’s at £327 on Hornby Shop, then what? I changed some years ago to a Digikeijs DR5000 however I bought a used eLink as I missed some of the program features of Railmaster. I use both now depending on my mood.
  4. Great news? I was hoping Hornby were announcing Loco Detection. I haven’t been this excited since the launch of HM|DC.
  5. I have a drawer full of R8247’s that no longer work may I suggest that you consider the Train-tech PC2 or the Digikeijs DR4018.
  6. F5-F8 will only work when the loco is moving I believe. F5 - Notch up F6- Notch down F7- Return to idle F8- Thrash
  7. Thinking about it a bit more should I connect to the orange and grey motor wires?
  8. Can I fit a TTS decoder into a loco as well as a Zimo decoder. I want the ABC braking functions of the Zimo but do not want to lose the sound. Does the TTS decoder just need the red and black motor leads connecting to function as the other functions will be handled by the Zimo as they will have the same address. I have a couple of DMU’s with the TTS decoder in the dummy car so I guess it would be a similar setup in the one loco.
  9. “Welcome to the Hornby Forum. Ask for advice and expertise, as well as discuss and debate all the news from the world of model railways.” As long as it’s Hornby. Isn’t it about time this tired forum was expanded to discuss other brands, after all how many people have solely Hornby products on their layouts. Maybe drop the HM/DC section?
  10. I’m guessing it could be the 1amp power supply.
  11. It doesn’t help that the wires are tightly coiled together when taken out of the packaging. I’ve lost count of the number of times wires have pulled out or simply fallen off both on Hornby point motors and decoders. I now prefer the P*c* ones.
  12. Since I started wrapping my decoders in Kapton tape I have never had an issue.
  13. Scumcat 01 Who said anything about being happy. I think I have as much right to post on here as you do. The thread is about dissatisfaction with Hornby.
