TrainFan89 Posted September 19, 2022 Share Posted September 19, 2022 Hi all!I'm interested in buying a set of the upcoming LNER Mk3 coaches (grey/red), but I can't figure out what locomotives would normally run them.The Mk4 is obvious as it has the Class 91 in matching livery, but I'm not sure what Class 43 loco would go with it - if indeed there is one.I've had a good look online but can't seem to find any answers. Class 91s wouldn't normally run with Mk3s, instead the 91s would run with Mk4 coaches and DVTs which are available from Hornby now, albeit at quite a high price. Almost all the time the Mk3 coaches were hauled by Virgin/LNER class 43 HSTs, or in their later years of life the red/white coaches were hauled by LNER liveried EMR *BRANDED* class 43 HSTs, as well as the 'Flying Tomato' HST liveries.Hope this helps!Best wishesTVR Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
