Dominic Thomas
Looking good at we approach the conclusion.I’m using this as a good guide for when I pluck up courage to have a go at mine. I think I’ll perhaps build confidence/interest with the 1/72 version first.
SD45elect2000
That’s good Ratch. I can let my breathe out. You know building two such large models Randall might think you are competing with his multiple building methods. Good luck with them both!GrumpyDon't worry, I'm not into competition. I've got 6 kits going now but it's slow as I am quite busy at work. I did get some more display cases too. I need to do some repair work before I can use the large one. Ratch
With the markings applied I returned to construction and fitted the undercarriage. The internal part of the turret was assembled, and various aerials were fixed to the fuselage.
Ratch
The additions were painted. I lined the turret frame with the ruling pen as I had done the glazing earlier. I added the propellers and brushed my mix of semi-matt varnish over the paintwork. I assembled the turret and dropped it into the aperture. Aeroclub rigging thread was secured with cyanoacrylate to make the aerial wire.In conclusion I have enjoyed this build despite my errors along the way. The kit makes a fine model and the design team at Airfix should be congratulated for their work on it. I would definitely build another.
