SD45elect2000
That looks like fun! I don't have nearly as much equipment as you do but I could make a go at it. I even have the same hanger! It might be confusing, I myself got confused thinking there was a bunch of stuff going on while I was asleep.Randall
Ratch
It's a super backdrop isn't it. I also have a variety of USAAF support vehicles. One day I'll do a shoot with them.

Ratch
Cheers Dale, I may try my low relief T2 Hangar in front and use the Coastal Kits as the interior - it may just work.

paul71
good looking set up ratch with the hanger, throw some different era planes in together and the vehicles and it would look like one of the hangers from a museum like duxford

SD45elect2000
Hi Ratch ,these are CMK Special hobby figures. They make a few little resin sets and I think they are a good supplement to my Airfix sets.I do need to do some touch up on them , the camera shows all the defects.I’ll pose a group of them with the Airfix sets soon.Randall
Ratch
Thanks Randall, I have a few CMK figures but had not seen those poses before. They bring the scene to life.
SD45elect2000
I'm always looking for more RAF staff cars and types. I currently have four. What would a group of aircrew ride out to the dispersal in ? American Jeeps?Randall

SD45elect2000
I’ve never seen these before, now I need to look for one. These would make a good display with some figures and a bomber.Randall
Ratch
Randall, I converted it from the Emergency Set fire engine, scratch-building the back part. IIRC its in AIRFIX magazine guide 27 Modelling RAF Vehicles ISBN 0 85059 261
paul71
Hi randall its a great setup with them working on the engine, since its armed think of it as needing a slight engine alteration before take off
paul71
that's a nice scratch build ratch with the bus, I've got a few vehicles to build at some point but they will be straight out of the box as these will be the first I've built. What do you use when scratch building and where do you get it from ratch, maybe you could do another thread on this and go into a bit more depth. im getting some great ideas from you and randall and would like to know more on this sort of thing and where to start with it all
Ratch
Hi Paul, thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it.Someone asked a very similar question on the ATF just a few weeks agoScratch building materials and tools - - The Airfix Tribute Forum - (tapatalk.com)I get things like plastic card from my local model shop. You can also find it on e-bay. Some things (like transparent sheet) are salvaged from packaging. Sometimes I use bought plastic rod, sometimes I stretch sprue. As your modelling experience develops, you'll see things all over the place that you'll think may come in handy and start hoarding things.
