moawkwrd
Hi all,Does anyone else have trouble with the TT8001 power track?I need a permanent solution either way but I just wondered if everyone else's was the same? It's honestly the worst design I could think of for its purpose... If it isn't the springs falling out constantly, it's just terrible at providing a stable connection to the power plug. ntpntpntp
There are other discussion threads about problems with the power feed track. The forum search function *should* find them but it doesn't always work well. To be honest I think it's a dreadful oversized design, I'd do away with it and solder a pair of wires to the track. Fishmanoz
It certainly shouldn’t just come apart like that, in fact it should take an amount of levering to get it apart. Send it back to Hornby under warranty - ring for returns details.
Rallymatt
I only use the set oval for DC running in, mine fell apart in my hands but I just soldered some wires to the rails. Since 1980’s ( I was young with hair back then) I have made my own power tracks by soldering wires to rails, once done you never go back 😁
moawkwrd
Good to hear I'm not alone!I've sent an email to the technical support address with the picture above. I'll probably solder the connection properly anyway but it'd be good to know how to reassembly it properly if possible.
Herbie
Maybe put some cork under it to support at same height as track.
moawkwrd
Maybe put some cork under it to support at same height as track. It broke a long time ago - nothing to do with that gap, which is just temporary whilst I was testing the layout yesterday.
