Ratch
This is a re-issue of the original 1/32 scale kit from 1971. The mould was believed to be irreparably damaged in France about 1980. A new tool for the clear parts was made for this 2023 Vintage Classic re-issue of this kit.The runners were rinsed in warm, soapy water, then left to air dry. My aim was to ensure that the chassis is set square. I like the way the parts are numbered in order of assembly, though the exploded illustrations leave much to the imagination (or expertise of the knowledgeable). As the assembly process advances, I can plan when to paint the parts and sub-assemblies. Ratch
I have primed the driver and body shell in white, and the chassis black.
Ratch
I masked the cabin and airbrushed a black primer. I airbrushed the chassis, interior and undersides in black. I then airbrushed flesh tones on the figure.
Ratch
I airbrushed the body shell orange, straight from the pot, un-thinned. I found a picture with these snazzy yellow and red shocks. The figure is brush painted (not complete yet).

Ratch
Many touch-ups and detail painting were done by brush. The clear parts were fixed with G-S Hypo Cement. Just the decals to put on now.
Ratch
I brushed Klear for a gloss base on which to lay the decals. I then applied the decals using Humbrol Decalfix.
Ratch
I brushed a protective coat of Klear and completed the build.I was pleasantly surprised with this kit. My expectation of a 70s tooling was not high, but the fit is good, detail is adequate, and the new clear parts combine perfectly with the original mouldings. A unique vehicle, well represented by this model. Thanks to Airfix for supplying this kit for review. I believe it has been a popular re-issue in the Vintage Classics range and maybe those who have missed the kit will not have to wait so long for a further re-issue.
