Ratch
I have added the machine guns, the generators, the collector ring, and exhaust pipes. I hand painted the canopy frame. Fitted the canopy using G-S Hypo Cement and fixed the small parts. I had to guess where the aerial masts and navigation lights were to locate at there seemed to be no visible points on the upper wing.

Ratch
Thanks guys, I brush painted the masts and navigation lights. When dried I started rigging, using Gold-Zack Strick-Elastic knitting-in elastic for the wires. Just the cabane struts this time.
Dominic Thomas
Progress indeed. I like the grain effect on the propeller blades. 👏🏻

Ratch
Two more rigging sessions completed and so is the build. Conclusion: I enjoyed this build right up to the rigging. I still find this task very hit and miss. Sometimes the thread sticks immediately and others it refuses to fix, and Zip-Kicker is required. My only gripe is the lack of location holes on the upper wing. I’m not sure whether I fixed the aerial masts and navigation lights in the correct positions, and the joints were weak. In hindsight it may have been better to fix the masts just before rigging, and the lights after. The model itself is well designed and looks fine to me. Those who know more about this particular aircraft will be able to offer an informed opinion regarding the accuracy of the kit. As a strictly amateur builder, I was happy with it. Thanks to Airfix for the opportunity of building it. No. 17 Squadron, Royal Air Force Upavon, Wiltshire, 1930.
Valhalla
Looks really good. Never modelled a Biplane myself so can't imagine the frustration with the rigging. The most I've ever had to do is radio mast to tail 🙂
paul71
that's a nice build ratch looks really good, its a nice looking kit, well done on the rigging
Grumps123
Great job, both the kit and the rigging. 👍
Dominic Thomas
Looks very good, well done. The bigger the kit (size or scale), the more intricate the rigging. Well done for attempting it and well done on the results. I’ve never attempted two very close parallel rigging lines - dreading it.
modeling maniac
Looks really good 👍, not a build for me though not one of my favourite aircraft.
Ratch
Thanks for your generous comments guys. It's a really nice kit and a pleasure to build. I'd really like a TM trainer version - hint, hint 🧐
DoubleD
Excellent job - I can only admire anyone who has done the rigging on a biplane👏
null_null981707818191
Full of admiration for the double-wired rigging! When I built mine (in Vintage Classic 1/72 scale) I found single strand only just manageable. I've enjoyed following your build - thanks for posting. And here's a picture of its little brother by way of comparison!
