doublepeg
Has anyone fitted firebox flicker to a Hornby sound fitted loco? Did you manage to sync it with coal shovelling, where do you connect the flicker LED to? I really fancy having a go at it

Gregd99
if you use the sapphire/8245 decoder you can set function outputs to "flicker". possible values are:- 0 – steady state. 1 – strobe. 2 – flickering / random fast flash. 3 – steady flashing. see https://www.hornby.com/filelibrary/download/?FileID=

B) You need a DCC system that can write CVs The Hornby Select cannot do this!

koo9
Well, be prepared to rewire the socket, it is a custom ESU decoder and a minimal connection board. Take the lid off and look first. :-(
