A J Rimmer
So, having suggested this as a thread yesterday and been told to get on with it - lets give it a go. 🙃 This is a thread I've seen on a few other forums, one which seems to be quite popular, the intention being that we can just post up the odd photo of what we're working on at the moment - builds that we've not, for one reason or another, started a dedicated build thread for. Anyway, here's what I've been working on over the weekend - I've added the decals to my Airfix 1/72 Curtis Hawk 91-A-2... I've also finished up the PM Model F-5A I've been working on for a few months. So - Over to you... (oh and Happy Workbench Wednesday!) I take it the stars and bars on the top wing are supposed to be like that - as if they've been worn off?

So so kit, some nice things and some not so nice. They come in a “dogfight double” set with a sea gladiator. Randall 1

Ratch
Apart from the 1/24 Spitfire review build, I also have the following on my bench: I started two sets of Airfix 1/9 England Stars in the ATF 18th Anniversary Group Build. They are taking a bit longer than I anticipated. Here's where I am with the 8 figures. I'm also starting a vehicle GB on the ATF with this one. I'm experimenting with primers and paints. I’ve never achieved a good finish on the paintwork of me previous car builds, and so sought advice for a good primer colour. I have been advised that white, yellow and pink are good primers for red cars and so set about experimenting before committing to the body shell. Firstly I sprayed Ammo Mig One Shot Primer A.Mig 2022 White over a test piece (an old Mosquito wing. To this I added a drop of Vallejo Model Air 71003 Scarlet Red RAL3020 FS31400 to make pink and this was sprayed over the wing tip. Vallejo Model Air 71002 Medium Yellow RAL1003 was sprayed over the centre section. It was then set aside to allow the paint to fully cure. I sprayed Vallejo Model Air 71084 Fire Red over the leading edge and Vallejo Model Air 71085 Italian Red over the trailing edge to see which looked best. I like to have some 1/72-6 figures on the go in the background. Progress is spasmodic, while other builds are worked on. Don't count the chevrons on the drummers' sleeves. I couldn't squeeze them all in The other bandsmen were not so complicated.

I like the look of the Italian Red (on the trailing edge) over the yellow.
