Night fighters - part 2 : Hasegawa Beaufighter

The next in my current fad of British night fighters, the Bristol Beaufighter Mk.I in the markings of 604 Sqn in late 1940 when based at RAF Middle Wallop.
This is the Hasegawa 1/72 kit, straight from the box. A lot easier to build than the Havoc. Hopefully Airfix will produce this mark from their quality moulds soon.

Coastal Kits background and figures from Modelu or 3DJson (both sets of figures in use to the point where I forget who supplied which !)

These props add a bit of depth and character which many of us on here (and elsewhere) find are now indispensable.

Watch out for more night fighters over the next couple of days.

Lovely job. Loving these night fighters, I think black must be my colour 🙂

Never seen the copper/bronze cowling ring and exhaust before. Is that due to heat or manufactured purposefully?

It’s my take on the Bristol engine exhaust ring. I won’t claim to have it spot on, but after trying many shades, I kind of like this one. Might be a bit bright but I like the way it drys and fades.
Thanks for your positive comment.
