ColinB
I don't know if people have the same issues I do with pulling off the worm gear off of a motor. I have bought many pullers ground them down to fit but none seem to work that well. So I bought a small puller Pasotim Pinion Puller from Amazon. It is small enough to fit the gap between the worm drive and the motor. Now in its virgin shape the gap is not big enough for the worm drive, so I filed the gap so it is bigger. Fits perfectly and because it is so small it is difficult not to do a square pull which is what normally bends the pin on the bigger ones. atom3624
Colin, well done, and yes, it is a pain trying to find 'the one that works'. I've several which have failed, or not been suitable despite appearance. Al.
96RAF
Mine has a superbly strong frame and changeable mandrels, but the pins are as soft as cheese so bend at the least misalignment. I need to drill out the broken mandrel to accept a piece of hardened steel rod to preclude bending. Another job on the oops I forgot that again list.
