RDS
I am fortunate to live close enough to a Hornby Dealer who has the Software package in stock and I actually always prefer to get a CD / DVD rather than an activation code. However, Is there any advantage to use the code activation method, rather than get the software on a disk?
Fishmanoz
Same difference RDS. The only way to get the activation code is to by the DVD. Then the best thing is just to activate the trial using the code which comes with it as it is the latest version and the DVD is not.
RDS
@Fishmanoz OK thank you, I was wondering if that was an option.
Fishmanoz
Hi RDS, should have clarified for you - the feature to buy online and have the code emailed to you has already been implemented in the program but RM Support have confirmed to me that it is yet to be available for use. I would expect that this is purely a short term marketing decision until all the DVDs in the marketplace have been sold. Clearly sales of them will collapse to a trickle as soon as the fully online option is available. But then, I shouldn't speculate or we'll have TnT exploding again. RDS
@Fishmanoz An update - I have now visited my local Hornby dealer and purchased the DVD. I followed your suggestion to enter the activation code against my downloaded evaluation program. This worked perfectly and was worth doing because the DVD was a version 1.2. Now for some serious programming!
