matti467
Hello, I am new to model railways and I need help and advice. I have just purchased a Class 50 with DCC and sound. All the functions work but the train won't run. Turn off the functions and all is fine... Any ideas... Thank you Alastair

poliss
Do you have any other locos on the track? Could be a faulty decoder. I'm thinking lack of power, but that shouldn't matter.

poliss
Probably a faulty decoder then. Take it back to the shop.

Flashbang
Hi Dont forget with sounds On it wont move off until the sound files have gone through the start up sequence and then if any acceleration is pre set it will wait until this is at a level to allow the motor to start turning slowly then gradually gain speed. Try again by placing loco on clean track, turn on the sound and set speed to roughly mid range then wait and see what happens.
2e0dtoeric
I was going to say the same. my 66 won't start immediately, with sounds on. I have to wait for the klaxon, the start-up, and for it to settle to idle, before it will move. Imagine the loco is your car, do you put it in gear, and then start the engine?
