Going Spare
The signal arms are facing anticlockwise trains. Perhaps it is the signalman at fault because the road is set for the diverging track whereas the signal is off for the 'main line'?
JJ73
Or unless the driver is going 'backwards' even thou his Loco is facing forward!!! I.e. pulling & not pushing!!! 'Smokey Joe' is a good little Loco to have - I have Smokey Joe aswell!!! 😀
The Doc
@Richard AlbionThere are plenty of slightly bigger locos that will work on 1st radius - for example the Class 08 (superdetailed range, but possibly not the Railroad version, ironically) or the J94 austerity saddle tank. I suspect the 0-6-0 Peckett would work a treat. I tested many of my locos from the main range on a 1st radius test track and many coped just fine, such as the J15, J50 and D16, as well as every Bo-Bo diesel I tried (both Hornby and Bachmann). They hard slowed down at all, even with a cheap trainset controller. Even the Stanier 8F just about coped, as did a Bachmann Robinson O4, despite both being 8-coupled locos, but that is really pushing things too far. An old 1970s tender drive 9F (2-10-0) coped fine. You can see how some of the locos coped at: (apologies for the poor sound quality, it was an old camera). So you shouldn't feel restricted to only 0-4-0 tank engines, cute though they maybe!
